Welcome to Our Office

Womens Clinic of Seattle, P.S.

Our practice is devoted to the healthcare of women like you. We treat most of the health problems that concern women. However, should you develop a problem outside of our area of expertise we can refer you to a specialist physician and work closely with that physician to assure you the best medical attention.

Your good health begins with a thorough knowledge of your normal body functions. One of our roles is to help provide you with this knowledge.

Appointments

We are happy to see new patients. Our office is open from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Patients are seen by appointment and you may make appointments up to 3 months in advance. Please call the office before coming in if you must be seen immediately. If your schedule changes and you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may use that time to benefit another patient.

Telephone

Please feel free to call during regular business hours. Our phone number is 206-386-3600. Our staff is trained and experienced to answer many of your questions. If necessary the doctor will return your call, so please explain the nature of your problem to the nurse or receptionist.

If you need a prescription refilled, please call during office hours so your chart will be available. Please have the phone number of your pharmacy handy when you call.

Obstetrical Care

Pregnant Patient

Prenatal care, delivery arrangements and post-partum evaluation are part of regular obstetrical care. We will be happy to help you choose a pediatrician to care for your newborn. We hope to answer the many questions you will undoubtedly have as we discuss the progress of your pregnancy with you. We encourage the father to participate in the entire childbirth process. We perform in-office ultrasound exams to keep you well informed about the progress of your pregnancy.

Gynecologic Care

We offer primary care to women of all ages. We take a special interest in particular health needs of women such as menopause. An important part of gynecologic care involves preventive medicine through annual examinations, breast examinations, pap smears, bone density testing, cholesterol testing and other preventive tests. We diagnose and treat a wide variety of problems involving the female reproductive system using both medical and surgical approaches. One of our primary goals is educating you about your own health and medical care.

Our staff is well trained and continues to keep up with the latest developments in our field such as:

Menopause Evaluation Bone Density Testing
Diagnostic Ultrasound        Osteoporosis Prevention & Therapy
Diagnostic Laparoscopy
for Pelvic Pain
Abnormal Pap Smear Evaluation
by Colposcopy
Minimally Invasive
Surgical Techniques
Screening for Colon Cancer
Urinary Incontinence Treatments Endometrial Thermal Ablation to avoid hysterectomy

Laboratory Tests

Frequently the need arises for special laboratory tests. All abnormal tests will be reviewed by the doctor. Many test results require a full week or more. If any abnormalities arise, you will be contacted by our office.

Fees and Insurance

Our fees are comparable to other gynecologists in our area. If you have insurance coverage, bring your insurance card or information with you for your office visit. Your co-pay amount is usually listed on your insurance card. Your co-pay will be collected at the time of your visit. If you do not have any insurance coverage, we ask that you pay for your office visits at the time of your appointment. Monthly billing will be reserved for hospital or surgical charges.

A/R Solutions, Inc., is our billing agent and can handle any questions you might have about your billing for our services. Just call them at (206) 522-1222 and they can handle any questions you may have about your bill.

If your care is covered by private health insurance or Medicare, be sure you receive the insurance copy of your Visit Slip. Submit it directly to your insurance company along with a completed claim form if it is required. Our Visit Slip serves as the "Attending Physician's Statement" portion of your insurance claim, and the doctor's signature is not required.

Regence Blue Shield, Medicaid and several other health plans will be billed directly by our office, but you will be responsible for any denied services. It is very helpful if you have with you at the time of you visit your I.D. Card (Regence or other Private Insurance) or Coupon (Medicaid). If you have insurance in addition to Regence be sure you receive your Visit Slip to bill the second company. If payment at the time of service is not possible, please make payment plans with us before you leave the office.

We participate with many health plans. The plans we contract with are listed here, but the list is updated frequently so check with our office if you have any questions about whether we are a provider on your particular health plan if you don't see it on our list.

We are aware that occasionally problems or misunderstandings come up in regard to charges. If there is an error or you have a question please don't hesitate to discuss it with us.

Laboratory tests are billed directly to you by the Lab doing your tests; therefore please make payment to them and not to our office. Also, hospital charges are separate from the doctor's fees.

Medical Service at Night and on the Weekends

If you have a serious medical problem after office hours you should report immediately to the emergency room nearest to you. Dr. Waszak has privileges at both Swedish Hospital and Northwest Hospital and he can coordinate with emergency room physicians at these hospitals. This is done to insure that you receive the highest quality medical care at all times.

Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner

Our office employs Margaret Coleman, A.R.N.P., M.N., an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with extensive training in obstetrics, gynecology and womens healthcare. She is qualified to provide primary health care for women, care for problems of the female reproductive system as well as having a special interest in areas such as teenage transition to gynecologic care. She is also trained to evaluate important problems in womens healthcare such as menopause and osteoporosis prevention and therapy. She can frequently address your problem on a same day basis.

Thank You

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us. We feel that the doctor-patient relationship is special and requires mutual respect.
