  Regimen A

Regimen B

  • Ceftriaxone, 250 mg IM once or
  • Cefoxitin, 2 g IM, plus probenecid, 1g orally in a single dose concurrently once or
  • Other parenteral third-generation cephalosporins (e.g., ceftizoxime or cefofaxime) plus
  • Doxycycline, 100 mg orally twice a day for 14 days (includin with one of the above Regimen B options)
  • Many authorities recommend adding metronidazole 500 mg b.i.d. to Regimen B to cover bacterial vaginosis associated anaerobes
