Womens Clinic of SeattleDecember 31, 2008
It is with some sense of sadness and regret that I write this letter to
tell you that I will be retiring from my private practice at the end of 2008. I have
always considered it a privilege to work with each and every one of you to help
you stay as healthy as possible.
A few years ago I gave up the practice of delivering babies in Seattle
after many years of providing that service to my patients. The relentless
rise in the cost of obstetrical malpractice insurance forced my hand in that
decision as it did for many of my colleagues.
Now I am retiring from private practice to spend more time with my
family. The rising cost of maintaining a small private practice has made this
decision come a little sooner than I had
anticipated.
I know I speak for Margaret and Lori, too, when I say we will miss each
and every one of you.
Margaret will still be able to see you as a patient at the Hall Health
Center at the University of Washington. You do not need to be a student at the
UW to be seen in their clinic. Their appointment phone number is 206-616-2495.
I will continue to see gynecology patients on a part-time basis at the
Skagit Valley Hospital and Clinics in Mt. Vernon, Washington, on Thursdays and
Fridays in the coming year. I will also continue to perform locum tenens
services for physicians who need help with their practices on a part-time basis.
I have always enjoyed working with you all and wish you the best in the
coming year.
Sincerely,
Stephen J. Waszak, M.D.
